Maverick Diagnostics, a Wrexham-based company that provides automotive training and car diagnostic instruments, has announced intentions to more than quadruple its staff after the opening of its new skills centre.

Managing director Andy Brooke made the decision to shift the company’s focus away from sales and toward services like technical support and live and remote training during the epidemic, which sped up growth and brought in new clients both domestically and abroad.

He announced plans to double their workforce more than and stay at the forefront of technological advancements as demand grows for technicians to work on EV and hybrid engines. This comes after the launch of their Automotive Training Academy, which offers a suite of IMI (Institute of the Motor Industry) courses from levels one to four.

Around 90,000 additional TechSafe technicians would be required worldwide by 2030, according to the IMI, said Mr Brooke.
